Happy Free Pattern Friday! I recently crocheted these flowers and made a garland with them as a last-minute Mother’s Day gift, so I wanted to share the pattern! There is a video tutorial on my YouTube channel for the flowers (link below), and the written pattern is also included in this post. You don’t have to make a garland with them; there are lots of projects that you could use these flowers for. I hope you enjoy the pattern and let me know if you have any questions (you can email me at maggietrunkhill@daisygirlcrochet.com). If you crochet some of these flowers, I would love to see some pictures of them, so if you post them on Instagram, make sure you tag me.

Inspiration
This pattern actually started as a pillow! I made this pillow a few years ago and have not had a chance to release the pattern yet!
Getting Started
Any lightweight yarn (sport or dk weight) with a 3.00 or 3.5 mm crochet hook will work well for this garland!
Yarn I Used
Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 (100% cotton; 160 m (175 yds) / 50 g (1.75 oz) skeins)
- 1 cerise (magenta)
- 1 old rose (pink)
- 1 pastel pink (light pink)
- 1 curry (yellow)
- 1 sage green (green)
- 1 light jeans blue (light blue)
- 1 dark teal (blue)
- 1 greyish purple (purple)
- 1 beige (cream- to assemble the garland or you can use one of the other colors to assemble it)
I used a 3.00 mm hook. You will also need some scissors and a tapestry needle to weave in the ends.
Abbreviations: In U.S. Terms (Translated to UK in parentheses)
st= stitch
sp= space
ch= chain (chain)
ss= slip stitch (slip stitch)
sc= single crochet (double crochet)
dc= double crochet (treble)
[ ] indicate that the sts are worked into the same space
{ } indicate that the the sts are repeated later in the pattern
The Pattern
I made 12 flowers (“light pink with blue” means a light pink center with blue petals)
- pink with light blue
- blue with pink
- light blue with magenta
- yellow with purple
- magenta with light pink
- green with yellow
- light pink with pink
- blue with light blue
- light pink with yellow
- light blue with green
- purple with magenta
- light pink with blue

With the color of the center of the flower, begin with a magic circle.
Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as the first dc), 15 dc into the magic circle. Close the magic circle. Ss into the top of the ch 3. Fasten off. (16).

Note: I took the pictures for round 2 while crocheting the third petal. The process is the same for all the petals though!
Round 2: Join the color of the petals into any st of the previous round. [Ch 1 (does NOT count as a st), sc].
- Ss into the next st (picture 1).
- Ch 10 (picture 2).

- Move the hook to the right and ss into the first ch of the ch 10 (pictures 3 and 4).

- 10 sc into the ch10-sp (pictures 5 and 6).

- Ss into the same dc st from the previous round that we ss into before the ch 10 (picture 7).
{Sc into the next st. Repeat the list below to crochet the next petal}. Repeat { } til end (6 more times). Ss into the first sc. Fasten off. (8 sc + 8 petals).
- Ss into the next st.
- Ch 10.
- Move the hook to the right and ss into the first ch of the ch 10.
- 10 sc into the ch10-sp.
- Ss into the same dc st from the previous round that we ss into before the ch 10.
Assembling the garland

Cut a long piece of the cream yarn. Attach a tapestry needle to one end. Pull the needle through the back side of one of the petals of each of the flowers (picture 1). I attached the flowers in the order the are listed in under “The Pattern” heading.
The position of the flowers can be adjusted, so once they are all attached, hang the garland and adjust the placement of the flowers as needed.

Then, the garland is finished! I hope you enjoyed this pattern! If you make it and post it on Instagram, make sure you tag me, so I can see it! You can also email me a picture at maggietrunkhill@daisygirlcrochet.com.
